Yoga for Beginners – 8 week series
Are you new to yoga? Looking to start or renew your practice? Simply curious how yoga enliven the body, harmonize the mind and nourish the soul? Come join us for our upcoming 8 week series on Yoga for Beginners!
Designed for first-timers or those looking to explore a slower paced practice, establish a stable yoga foundation and “go back to basics”, this course offers an invitation to begin your practice and (re)discover yoga in a safe, nourishing and fun space.
It takes a systematic approach for developing a balance of strength and flexibility, understanding of the significance/benefits of major asanas and healthy alignment principles, good useful breathing habits, awareness, focus, relaxation and harmony through:
– basic yoga postures (asanas)
e.g sun salutations, standing postures, forward and back bends, twists etc
– simple flow sequences
– breathing practices (pranayama)
– relaxation/ mindfulness exercises
Learn to listen to your body and breath, use of props when necessary to support you in your practice, discover ways to adapt the postures based on your own unique body alignment and to accommodate any injuries/ health issues, or just to modify for what you truly need each time you step onto the mat.
About the Teacher Juliana Phua:
Juliana started practicing Yoga more than 10 yrs ago and thoroughly enjoyed the physical side of Yoga, which made her much stronger in her core, arms and legs, and along with that she found that she was improving immensely in terms of her focus and mental clarity.
Juliana enjoys yoga so much that she now continues on her life journey with yoga fulltime, dedicating herself to the practice of yoga while teaching and sharing her passion. She loves teaching yoga very much, as it is really wonderful and heart warming to see calm, happy faces at the end of every class.
