Yoga Alignment Principles – 4 week series
Come join us for a valuable, fun and experiential 4 week series on Yoga Alignment Principles! Ideal for all who are looking to refine their personal yoga practice, find precision in their alignment with clarity, and be empowered with key understandings on how to keep their bodies safe during practice.
Yoga postures (asanas) engage our bodies and challenge our strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. When practiced with awareness and knowledge of healthy alignment following the anatomical design of the body, one will find greater ease and integration, allowing the benefits of the asanas to be maximized, and the practice a safe and rejuvenating experience. However, we may cause stress and risk of injury when we don’t fully understand the design or practice contrary to it. Proper alignment is also essential for establishing a solid foundation on which a practice can grow and allows us to be more available to garner the benefits of subtler practices such as pranayama and meditation.
This course will explore the principles of alignment and posture, anatomy and biomechanics that are the basis of today’s study of yoga. Learn how these principles can enhance and deepen your yoga practice, as well as build your awareness of everyday movements and postural habits.
