PranaAsana Workshop
Every Sunday
6 - 830am
According to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, one of the ancient texts that is the basis for the philosophy behind yoga, there are eight “limbs” (Ashtanga in Sanskrit) of yoga.
1.Yama
2. Niyama
3. Asana
4. Pranayama
5. Pratyahara
6. Dharana
7. Dhyana
8. Samadhi
In this series of workshops, you will learn 2 of the 8 limbs:
Practice of breathing exercises. A sequence of breathing techniques that will help you to breathe deeper and better. In breathing better, we start to feel that our minds are clearer, our bodies become lighter and asanas hence become easier, meditation comes easier as well.
Practice of yoga postures. Learn a sequence of asanas that with regular practice will make you stronger and more flexible. Feel the difference in your practice after the pranayama sequence, you will feel lighter and more energetic in your asanas.
There will also be a small introduction to meditation (Dhyana). You will feel that your mind is much clearer and more ready for meditation after the pranayama practice.
With regular practice of this Pranayama-Asana sequence, you will feel that your body and mind is lighter, more flexible and stronger.

Instructor: Asokan
Asokan has been practicing and teaching yoga for almost a decade now. He has always been passionate about physical fitness, and started his journey as a national long distance runner in Malaysia after which he had a successful career as a gym fitness instructor in Singapore.
When he was 33 he discovered the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga, and realized that he had found his path in this life. As someone who discovered an innate ability and passion fairly late in life, he strongly believes that the same could be true for many others. This belief drives his teaching, as he tries to help his students on their journey of deeper self discovery.
Asokan received his teacher training from the Sivananda school and the Swami Vivekenanda Yoga Research Foundation (SVYASA) in Singapore as well as the Bihar school of yoga in Bangalore. He has also received teacher training in Family Yoga from Global Family Yoga. He is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher. |
